This season is proving a rollercoaster ride for BCKC so far. Let’s catch everyone up;

October 31st, Winter’s coming.
2s
Early dreams of an unbeaten season for the 2s were ripped away by an icy reception away to Leicester Tornadoes. Our inexperience showed as Leicester eased to a 20-8 win. Vengeance to be sought in the return leg! (Not too much vengeance though as BCKC legend Nicky Clarke is their manager…)

November 3rd, Blowing hot and cold.

The 1s hosted Kingfishers in our first ever home NL match. The side looked in great shape fighting fiercely to 7-7 and a couple down at half time. Kingfishers though, turned up the heat in the 2nd half running away to a 22-11 win.
2s
In contrast the 2s proved too hot to handle for Nottingham Uni 2. Our structure and style had returned and we flushed away memories of Thursday’s trip to Leicester. Final score; 14-3 to BCKC; freezing Notts out in the second half.

November 10th, New Heights!
1s
Bromsgrove the scene again for another sticky NL fixture for BCKC 1. Norwich Knights came into the game sitting in 3rd place and with a 100% winning league record this season. We kept things tight early on and held a brief lead but Knights began to turn the screw, getting shots up around the post and eventually running away to a 23-11 win. Croydon away next Sunday; could the elusive 1st NL win be on the cards- Tune in next Sunday to find out.
3s
What’s that I hear you ask? Birmingham City KC has a 3rd team?! That’s right readers; we do indeed! 10/11/2013 was the date, 13.15 the time, BCKC 3 playing their first fixture in the new West Midlands Korfball League against Birmingham Uni. It was a topsy-turvy encounter; BCKC taking an early 3-0 lead but trailing 4-3 at half time. With 5 minutes to go City were 7-5 behind but came back to salvage a 7-7 draw; our 3s clearly born with the heart of the bull. Unbeaten record intact!
