The sound of a whistle, the squeaking of shoes on the hall floor, and then, that ever so familiar sound of ball entering korf; Trojans 1-BCKC 0. And so it began!
In hindsight this match can be viewed in 2 very clear sections; the 1st part, an incredibly tight low-scoring affair, and the 2nd part- a Trojans masterclass. Sadly for Brum that 1st part lasted for around the first 30 seconds. For the remaining 59 and a half minutes Trojans were rampant.

In all seriousness, this game represented just how far Birmingham City have come, coupled with a rye look at just where this club can take itself in the future. Everyone knew Trojans would provide the biggest test so far this season, and so it proved. Their defence was tight, their attack was cut throat, and their finishing was quite incredible.
But credit where credits due to the heart of the Bull and BCKC- Heads never dropped, space was created, shots were taken, goals were scored, and most importantly- There were smiles all over the court!
With about 15 minutes gone Trojans found themselves 10-1 ahead. But ever so importantly that 1 was Alex Seabright’s first goal for BCKC 1 on his first team debut, against the reigning National League champions- a great shot from far out it was too.
From 10-1 Birmingham found their feet somewhat; giving Trojan’s more to think about and really forcing the Croydon club to earn their goals. The best moment of the day came from Tom Brady operating the shotclock; as Dutch dynamo Dani scored a lovely goal Brady hissed ‘Take that Trojans’- the score approximately 12-2 at the time!
There goes another of this season’s historic days for Brum City and despite a heavy loss there are so many positives to draw from that performance. Bring on Bec in our Christmas Bonanza!
